PURPOSE:To obtain an artificial ivory closely resembling natural ivory in appearance, color tone, physical properties etc., excellent in carving processability by addition of sodium sulfite during such a process that lipase is added to a raw material blend comprising eggshell, albumen, milk, etc.,to effect plasticization. CONSTITUTION:During such a process that 0.5-2wt.% of e.g. lipase is added to a raw material blend comprising (1) 30-48wt.% of eggshell, (2) 24-50wt.% of albumen, (3) 15-35wt.% of milk and (4) 2-6wt.% of submaterial(s) such as pigment to effect plasticization, 0.01-0.5wt.% of sodium sulfite is added to the system. The resulting plasticized product is molded, and the during drying the molded product, said product is temporarily immersed in a formalin solution. |
