The invention relates to a device for detecting an alarm indication signal (SIA) originating from a device for reception of a digital data or telecommunications signal. According to the invention, it comprises analysis means for producing a signal (S1) defining a cycle for analysis of the data signal; a logic element (D1) for transmitting the said analysis cycle signal (S1) to a counter (C1) and to a delayed-derivative device (CR), the said counter (C1) being configured to count a number of "0" or "1" bits in the data signal, to compare it with a predetermined threshold and produce an output signal which is a function of the result of the comparison; a flip-flop (D2) receiving, as input, output signals from the counter (C1) and from the delayed-derivative device (CR); and a gate (P1) receiving, as input, output signals from the said logic element (D1) and from the flip-flop (D2) and delivering the said signal SIA as output. <IMAGE>
