PURPOSE:To enable a sensor output or gas sensitivity to be improved by enabling an active pole to surround three ways of an opposite pole and a reference pole within a solid electrolyte layer. CONSTITUTION:An opposite pole 30 and a reference pole 40 of a thin stripe object shape are placed side by side on an insulation substrate 10 which consists of alumina etc., they are placed so that the outside is surrounded by a nearly U shaped active pole 20, and a terminal part 22 is provided at one terminal of a thick U shaped reaction part 21, thus enabling two sides in longer direction and one side in shorter direction of reaction parts 31 and 41 of the opposite pole 30 and the reference pole 40 to face the reaction part 21. The active pole 20 and the opposite electrode 30 consists of platinum and the reference pole 40 consists of gold and a macromolecular solid electrolyte layer 50 is formed on a substrate 10 so that electrodes 20 - 40 are covered entirely, thus enabling ion conduction between the active pole 20 and the opposite electrode 30 to be improved and a reaction area of the active pole 20 to be increased so that the sensor output and gas sensitivity are improved, output is not reduced even if the sensor is miniaturized, and increase in load of a signal processing circuit and complexity of circuit configuration can be avoided. |
