The anode (2) is supported without physical contact by a magnetic bearing. The anode current is transferred using a field emission source (9) attached to a hollow cylindrical rotor (6), rotating with the anode (2). The field emission source (9) is supplied to the inner mantle of the rotor (6) facing an internal stator (11) coupled to the anode terminal (12).
