PURPOSE:To surely read image patterns which are used for correcting registration by adjusting the transfer position of the image patterns transferred on a transfer belt, based on an transfer amount in the deviation of the transfer belt whose amount is calculated by the use of a calculating means. CONSTITUTION:The calculating means PCON calculates the transfer amount in the deviation of the transfer belt 201 based on image information obtained by reading image patterns, transferred on the transfer belt 201, several times at the prescribed timing by the use of a reading means 210. An adjusting means PCON controls the rotary driving of the transfer belt 201 so that the image patterns transferred on the transfer belt 201 are collected in the effective reading area of the reading means. Thus, the image patterns on the transfer belt 201 can be accurately read even by the use of an inexpensive image sensor 210 of low resolution. |
