<p>Mash filter passes wort in for first wort separation in the entry cone with grains slung out against the vertical screen where they are entrained by the rotating, close pitch screw spindle operating as the scraper. The spindle adjusts parallel to the screen to vary the filter bed (thickness of grains), and the grain passes up the screen for spraying with extraction water. The machine is simple and reliable, overcomes previous centrifuging problems, provides adequate wetting with the water due to the high speed and changing surface provided by the screw spindle.</p> |
