Addressing frame data in memory

An addressing method for addressing frame data in a memory in a video recording and/or reproducing apparatus using a low-priced DRAM memory instead of a high-priced SRAM or field memory. The method comprises the steps of dividing a DRAM memory into sub-memory regions which are successively addressed at a rate which avoids the need for separate refreshing.
