PURPOSE:To prevent the development of a complication with schemia of lower limbs while facilitating the insertion and withdrawal of a catheter by arranging an internal tubular body to be made of a hard resin as forming component having a tip and a base end. CONSTITUTION:A balloon catheter 1 has an external tubular body 2 and an internal tubular body 4 which is inserted through the external tubular body 2 with a tip of a balloon 3 fastened at the tip thereof. Moreover. the internal tubular body 4 has a second lumen 11 inside. The lumen 11 may be used as a path to insert a guide wire or a passage to dose a necessary drug. Then, a forming material herein usable for the internal tubular body 4 is a hard resin such as polyimide, polyethylene, polypropyrene, polyester, polyamide, polyvinylidene fluoride or ethylene-ethylene tetrafluoride copolymer, only if it can be formed into a tube. Especially, when it is made of polyimide, the thickness of the internal tubular body can be made as less as possible. |
