摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the radiating area of a fluorescent body and improve the brilliancy of display, by providing a pair of bases opposing each other with a discharge space interposed between them, and providing on the side of the one which is provided with address electrodes that define selective discharge cells, conductive fluorescent bodies covering the above electrodes. CONSTITUTION:At a plasma display panel, a plurality of discharge maintenance electrode pairs 12 consisting of pairs of main discharge electrodes extending in an X direction, a dielectric body layer, gridlike partitions 19, are equipped at the inner surface of a glass base 11 on a display side, and a plurality of partitions 29 extending in a Y direction, address electrodes 22 or the like provided between respective partitions 29, are equipped at the inner surface of a glass base 21 on a back side. As for fluorescent bodies, bodies 28R, 28G, 28B whose radiating colors are mutually different, are provided so as to fill each of the spaces between partitions 29 on the back side, and all the surfaces of address electrodes 22 are covered with respective fluorescent bodies. As a result, at each unit radiating sphere EU in a display surface 10, fluorescent bodies exist at the whole sphere of part surrounded by partitions 19, and the area of radiation is increased. Also, there is no special need of increasing drive voltage for each fluorescent body, as it is made to be a conductive body by being mixed with an adequate quantity of In2O3.
