PURPOSE:To compensate the distortion of an image even if a projection surface slants to projection light by composing a liquid crystal display part of a liquid crystal display element and one polarizing plate which is arranged on the opposite side of the liquid crystal display element from a Fresnel lens mirror. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal display part consists of the birefringence type liquid crystal display element 9 and the one polarizing plate 10 which is arranged on the opposite side of the birefringence type liquid crystal display element 9 from the Fresnel lens mirror 2. At this time, the polarizing plate 10 is so arranged so that both light made incident on the display element 9 and light projected from it pass through the polarizing plate. The light from a light source 1 passes through the polarizing plate 10 only twice when made incident on and projected from the liquid crystal display part and a bright display is obtained. Consequently, the distortion of the image can be compensated even if the projection surface slants to the projection light. |
