<p>PURPOSE:To dispense with an IC and its peripheral device which are conventionally required and allow a reduction in space and cost by using a temperature sensor part in which an optical fiber doped with a rare earth element is wound on a cylinder once or more, a light source, and an optical power measuring device. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber temperature sensor is formed of a light source 1, and a cylinder body 4 having an optional diameter on which a rare earth element doped fiber 2 is wound once or more, and an optical power measuring device 3. The light outputted from the light source 1 is inputted to the rare earth element doped fiber 2 wound on the cylinder body 4. As the rare earth element doped fiber 2 has properties in which the loss per unit length is extremely large, its loss is increased when it is wound in cylindrical form, and the increase and decrease of the loss by a temperature change is linearly increased, it has extremely a large increase and decrease quantity of loss to unit temperature change quantity and a good linearity. Thus, by measuring the outputted light of the rare earth element doped fiber 2 by the optical power measuring device 3, the temperature and its change quantity can be measured as the optical power and its change quantity with an extremely high precision.</p> |
