A method of forming a pizza crust in which a quantity of dough is first pressed onto a tray having a circular channel, thus forming a pizza crust with a raised edge. The pizza crust is then proved and is optionally subjected to further pressing and proving. The crusts are then rolled and subjected to a docking operation, then baked to various degrees.
