A hand-held machine such as a cleaver equipped with an engine as the driving source wherein the drive shaft pipe is formed by telescopically extendable pipe members provided with a fixing means, and the rotational force of a driving mechanism is transmitted to the operational means via the drive shaft having a circular section, at least one one-way clutch and the drive shaft on the side of the operational means to thereby minimize the size of the device conveniently for transportation/storage, improve the work efficiency, and secure the safety of the operator. |
