The invention relates to novel oxabicycloheptane derivatives of the formula: where D is a hydrogen or halogen atom, or a hydroxyl, alkoxy, arylalkoxy, acyloxy, dialkylcarbamoyloxy or amidoalkyloxy group; B is a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, thienyl or furyl group; /A// is the group (where ? is 0 or 1; m and n are each 1 or more, provided that m + n is an integer of 2 - 8; R1 is an alkylamino, dialkylamino, arylalkylamino, morpholino, thiomorpholino, 1-pyrrolidinyl, piperidino, N-alkyl-piperazinyl, N-hydroxyalkylpiperazinyl or pyrrolizidinyl group; and R2 is a lower alkyl or hydroxyl group), or the group (where ?, m, n, R1 and R2 have the aforesaid meanings), or the group (where R3 and R4 which may be the same or different each represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl, alkoxy-carbonyl or acyl group), or the group (where m, ?, n, R1 and R2 have the aforesaid meanings). The oxabicycloheptane derivatives of the invention are effective in ameliorating or eliminating the symptoms that appear either as a result of organic disorders in the brain or on account of pathergasia. These compounds also have antidepressant effects and are useful as psychopharmaceuticals. |
