PURPOSE:To repair the device only by operating an actuator means by diagnosing the fault state of the device and reasoning and outputting the actuator means, and simulating the secondary influence of its operation. CONSTITUTION:A digital signal/symbol conversion part 11 converts digital signals from sensors 1a - 1c into symbols according to reference value data set in an object model storage part 14. Then a fault diagnostic part 12 evaluates the symbols and when the fault is decided, a fault diagnostic and a fault state are simulated to determine the fault symptom and fault cause. Then a repair planning part 15 reasons a repairing method and also simulates the influence of the repair. Then a repair plan is determined and control instructions are developed. At the time of the development, feature data characteristic to the device for actuator operation are read out of the storage part 14 and utilized.
