SELF-DIAGNOSTIC AND SELF-REPAIRING SYSTEM FOR IMAGE FORMATION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To repair a fault only by operating an actuator means by comparing state data with feature data and discriminating whether or not there is the fault, and selecting the actuator means for repair in case of the fault. CONSTITUTION:When signals from sensors 1a - 1c are inputted to a fault diagnostic part 12, the diagnostic part 12 discriminates whether or not there is the fault and specifies its fault symptoms by utilizing fault diagnostic knowledge. When it is discriminated that there is the fault, the diagnostic part 12 retrieves parameters of the fault according to qualitative data and a fault simulation part 13 simulates the fault state. Those processes are carried out for the retrieved parameters to determine the fault symptoms and fault cause. Then a repair plan part 15 reasons a repairing method and simulates the influence of repair to determine a repair plan and feature data for actuator operation are read out to develop control instructions.
