PURPOSE:To obtain a composite material having heat conductivity comparable to that of a material and improved and corrosion resistances by granulating, drying and hot-pressing mixture of SiC with graphite, BeO, BN and a liq. org. binder. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 45-95wt.% SiC of <=10mum particle size with 3-50wt.% graphite of 20-100mum particle size, 0.05-20wt.% (expressed in terms of Be) BeO of 0.05-5mum particle size, 1-10 wt.% BN of 0.5-10mum particle size and a liq. org. binder such as an aq. PVA soln. is granulated, dried and hot- pressed at 1,900-2,150 deg.C under 250-350kg/cm<2> pressure to obtain a wear resistant composite material having 0.64-0.3cal/cm.sec. deg.C heat conductivity and >=0.75 coefft. of friction. |
