PURPOSE:To attain self-restoration by detecting an applicable case out of cases stored in a case storing means based upon diagnosed failure state and failure cause and executing a restoring work. CONSTITUTION:Various cases are arranged and stored in a case storing means 17 at least by failure cause classifications. For instance, the cases of failure causes such as 'defect of halogen lamp setting', 'defect of main charging voltage' and 'defect of developing bias' are arranged and stored. A case detecting means retrieves the cases stored in the case storing means 17 and detects the case of the failure state and failure cause diagnosed by a failure diagnosing means 12. Work included in the case detected by the case detecting means is executed as failure restoring work. Thus, the self-restoration can be executed.
