FERMENTATION OF AMINO ACID AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To carry out the subject fermentation on a large scale in high efficiency without lowering the performance of a circulation means and a cell- separation apparatus by separating and removing bubbles in a fermentation liquid with a bubble separator before a circulation means in an amino acid fermentation process. CONSTITUTION:A continuous amino acid fermentation is performed by fermenting an amino acid in a formation 1 containing at least microbial cells and a medium, separating the fermentation liquid with a cell-separator into a fermentation liquid containing microbial cells and a fermentation liquid free from microbial cells and circulating the fermentation liquid containing microbial cells between the fermenter 1 and the cell-separator with a circulation means. In the above process, bubbles in the fermentation liquid is separated and removed with a bubble separator prior to introducing the liquid into the circulation means and the cell-separator.
