<p>PURPOSE:To offer a cursor controller being improved its operability by dynamically changing the size and shape of a cursor in accordance with the input from a pointing device. CONSTITUTION:A cursor moving speed deciding means 4 finds out the moving speed of a cursor based upon X and Y axes data obtained from a position detecting means 2. Then, a display cursor selecting means 5 finds out the size, shape and luminance of the cursor to be displayed on a display 7 through a cursor display control means 6 based upon the cursor speed obtained by the means 4. Then, coordinate data from the pointing device are inputted to find out new X and Y coordinates of the moved cursor. A difference between the new X and Y coordinates and the preceding X and Y coordinates is found out, the relative moving speed v0 of the cursor is found out based upon the difference or a value obtained by integrating the differences for a fixed period, whether the speed v0 is slower than a reference speed V1 or not is decided, and when the v0 is slower, a cursor I is selected. When the speed V1 is slower as the result of comparison between the speeds v0, V1, a cursor II is selected. Then, the selected cursor is displayed on the display device 7.</p> |
