The attenuated total reflection (ATR) spectroscope maintains focus in spite of varying the incident angle of an infrared ray. The ATR spectroscope is used for identifying a mass of a certain material or a structural formula of a chemical compound. The ATR spectroscope comprises support members (4,4') equipped with plane mirrors (2,2') and concave mirrors (3,3'), linear guidance rods (6,6') moving the support members, a support plate (11) having a prism (21) on between the support members (4,4'), guidance rods (12,12') moving the support plate (11) within the focus distance of the concave mirrors (3,3'), and connection rods (17,17') having gears between the prism and the concave mirros.
