PURPOSE:To display the actual operating state of a master set onto a slave set at application of power by requesting the transmission of information relating to the operating state to the master set at application of power of the slave set and displaying the operating state based on the information set in response thereto. CONSTITUTION:At application of power of a slave set B, a control circuit 35 of the slave set outputs a data requesting the transmission of information relating to the operating state of a master set A and sends it to a transmission antenna 29. A control circuit 12 of the master set A receiving the transmission signal discriminates the operating state of an automatic answering telephone set function control circuit 19 or the like and outputs the data relating to the operating state of the automatic answering telephone set function control circuit 19 and the slave set B receiving the data from the master set A analyzes the data and outputs a display control signal to a display device 37, on which the operating state such as presence of recording message or ordering message is displayed. Thus, the newest operating state of the radio telephone set is accurately displayed.
