PURPOSE:To provide a sheet having staples oriented in an intermediate direction between X and Y axes or wide staple-oriented sheet by a method wherein a staple-containing rubber is extruded through an annularly-shaped groove of a forming die and cut into A spiral form. CONSTITUTION:A fiber is cut into a length of a few millimeters to make staples, which are added to unvulcanized rubber to be mixed and dispersed therein. The staple-containing rubber thus obtained is cut into the form of a tape or pelletized and fed into an extruding machine 1 through a feed opening 2. The staple-containing rubber 3 so fed is wormed by a screw 4 and, through a forming die 5, is extruded a staple-containing cylindrical rubber body 6, in which the staples are mainly oriented uni-directionally. Such staple-containing cylindrical rubber body 6 is immediately cut into a spiral form by a cutter 10 of a cutter device 7 being rotated circumferentially by a motor 8. The cut staple-containing rubbers are formed into a ribbon-like rubber sheet 11, which are then wound around an automatic take-up machine 12. |
