The can which has a tamper-evident seal comprises a container and lid. The container has near the upper end on the outside a lid rest and between this rest and the upper edge of the can on the outside wall of the container there is at least two webs (3) acting as a bayonet lock. These webs have at their end an attachment (10) directed at right angles to the container base and rising wedge-fashion in the closure direction. The inside of the lid edge engaging over the container edge has the same number of corresponding webs (4) which when the lid is screwed on come to rest directly underneath the webs (3) of the can. In the lid edge there is at least one radially inwardly extending detent tooth (6) which in the closed state fits directly behind one of the attachments (10). The detent tooth (6) is connected to a tab (5) on the outside of the lid edge and through a weak spot (9) in the lid edge can be broken off to open the can.
