A permanent magnet rotor (4) is installed on a rotating shaft (7) in parallel with an electro-magnet rotor (3), and this composite rotor is inserted into a stator. The magnetic poles (8)(8')(9) (9') of the rotor are made to be same with each other in their number, and these two sets of the poles of the rotor are aligned to each other. The effective axial length of the coils of the stator is made to extend to the same length as the combined axial length of the rotor. The generator increases its output only by extending the length of the permanent magnet rotor.
