The present invention provides a golf ball having excellent impact resilience and good flying performance, which comprises a core and a cover for covering the core, wherein the cover contains an ionomer resin as a main material and the ionomer resin has the first peak at 85 to 95 DEG C and the second peak at 70 to 80 DEG C in its crystal melting behavior attended with the measurement by a differential scanning calorimeter. A process for producing the above golf ball is also disclosed.
