Method of producing alkyd polyester resins from dicarboxylic acids or their anhydrides and unsaturated esters of fatty multihydroxyl alcohols, containing at least two free hydroxyl groups per molecule, involves two stage synthesis, first stage includes poly condensation in 200-250 degrees C to obtain small molecule oligomers concluded with carboxyl groups; second stage involves adding 1-10% per weight in relation to the introduced volume of the epoxy component containing at least two oxirane rings per molecule, then the process is continued possibly in the presence of the catalyst selected from the tertiary amine group, ammonium salts or salts of group II of the periodic table, until obtaining acidity reading <=10 mg KOH/g in accordance with the patent No. 149 591; is characterised in that at the second stage of the process, when acidity reading reached more 30 mg KOH/g, optimally 50-60 KOH/g, an epoxide component is added and the process is continued at 200-250 degrees C involving continuous removal of condensation water from the processing system.
