摘要	The drive ring (3) has at its end facing the rear of the penetrator (2) a pressure flange (6) supporting a guide strip (7). The ring also has recesses in the area of the pressure flange where low material loads occur during firing. Such recesses are filled with a material lighter than aluminium, and are formed in the segment dividing surfaces. The recesses are drilled radially in the pressure flange in the side turned away from the pressure. The drive ring is of the two-flange drive cage, type, both flanges supporting against the weapon barrel. The front flange (4) has an air pocket (5) which activates the opening of the drive ring after leaving the barrel. USE - For military applications, as a segmented drive ring for a projectile.
