Equipment has a heater and mould tool, the sheet being held taut and heated by an oven close to the mould. The system pref. moves both the sheet and mould. The mould is adjacent to the oven and is moved vertically by cylinders. The oven is electrically heated and has an inlet with door flaps and their (e.g.) curtains to minimise heat loss. One frame moves on the guide from the oven to mould, a second frame moves on guide. The guides are tracks and have rollers. The oven has a connection to a vacuum pump via a regulator valve so that compressed air can be fed in. Hot air can be drawn from the frames and returned to the oven to save energy. The mould tool has bores for vacuum to draw the plastic sheet. Compressed air can be fed through a valve to the mould. The thermoformed sheet is cooled e.g. with cold air from a blower. ADVANTAGE - Equipment used saves much energy and time when compared with existing thermoforming systems. (0/11)
