<p>The invention relates to a suction device to be used in dental care, comprising a suction source, a suction pipe (1) to be joined to the suction source, a handle (2) arranged at the end of the suction pipe (1) and provided with a through suction hole and a solenoid valve arranged in the suction pipe (1) between the suction source and the handle (2) to switch on the suction at the handle (2) and to switch it off as well as a switch (4) arranged in connection with the handle (2) to guide the solenoid valve. To eliminate the problems relating to mechanical hand-operated switches, the switch (4) is a switch responsive to position, such as a mercury switch, arranged to guide the solenoid valve and to provide a switching-on of the suction at the handle (2) when the end of the handle on the suction pipe (1) side is situated higher than the rest of the handle (2), substantially irrespective of the rotational position of the handle (2) with respect to the longitudinal axis thereof.</p> |
