The appts measures contactlessly the thickness and/or thermal properties of foils and thin surface coatings, using non-stationary thermal conductivity. It contains an inductor (I) which generates an intensity modulated magnetic field (Mf) directed towards the measured object. The thermal radiation, emitted by the object (Mo) as a result of the stimulations, is detected by a radiation receiver (Se). The inductor is connected to a HF generator (HG) via a transformer (T). ADVANTAGE - Facility to measure a number of objects even with optically covered layers.
