The fuel metering system, for an i.c. engine, measures the engine suction press (pm), the engine revs (n), the throttle opening (alpha) and the temp. of the air supplied to the engine, for each operating stroke. The suction press (pm) is used to obtain a corrected suction press dependent on the ambient temp. and the atmospheric press, with the required quantity of fuel obtained from the correction suction press and the engine revs. Pref. 4 separate value tables are used respectively for high temp. and press values, high press and low temp. values, high temp. and low press values and low temp. and press values.
