Clothes drier (1) characterized in that it includes, inter alia, a device (17) for adjusting the rate of condensation of the humidity in the drying air, according to the type of damp clothes such as cotton, silk, wool or synthetics in the clothes drum (3), that is, according to the rate of evaporation of the humidity in the various types of damp clothes. The device works by adjusting the cooling fluid flow of the condenser and, hence, by adjusting the condensation capacity of the humidity in the drying air. The device (17) consists of said means for generating a flow of drying air and/or said means for generating the flow of cooling fluid of the condenser, which circulates in the two opposite directions of rotation and has at least one different speed of rotation for each of the two directions of rotation. Application in household appliances and heat exchangers in general.
