The connector comprises a contact element in a shell-shaped housing with a rotary lid. The contact element consists of several contact supports, a contact bridge, and an actuator. A contact terminal connects the respective conductors. The connector has a centering duct (5) which aligns the inserted strip cable (6). The alignment is such that the cable cores are aligned over the cutter contacts (8) behind the duct. A compression member (9) in the housing lid (2) compresses the flat cable cores against the cutter contacts during the lid closure for reliable electric coupling.
