A device for removing the wheel rims off wheel sets, consisting of an extruder and the rim-securing jaws, characterised by the fact that it is equipped with an operator trolley (7) and a heater installation for the rims that has an automated control of the valve (14) which starts gas burners (19) lit with pilot burners (20), and where the automated control of valve (14) is connected to a hydraulic system driving the extruder (14) by means of a motor operator (12).<IMAGE>
