The invention is in the field of optics and relates to a method for vertical centring of the optic lenses with respect to a spectacle frame, and to a device for carrying out this method. The method consists, with a subject provided with a spectacle frame equipped with a dummy lens, in tracing on the said lens the point of intersection between the lens and a horizontal line of vision. The device for carrying out the method consists, on the one hand, of a pair of vertical lateral mirrors (13, 14) which are articulated about a vertical shaft on a support (10, 12) of adjustable height (11) and, on the other hand, of a sighting (15) with reticule around which there are arranged four small light sources (24), intended to locate the pupil. <IMAGE>
