<p>A paperboard carton is constructed from a blank (B) including a first panel (2) having sidewalls (11, 13) connected thereto by scored fold lines (24, 28). A second panel (4) having sidewalls (12, 14) connected thereto by scored fold lines (26, 30), one of the sidewalls of the first panel and one of the sidewalls of the second panel being congruent. The second panel includes an opening device which includes a tab (9) extending from an edge of the second panel, at least one through cut segment (8) extending from an edge of the tab into the second panel and terminating at a termination point (8b), a partially cut line (6) and a perforated line (5) in the second panel and extending substantially parallel to the partially cut line, the partially cut line having a portion (6B) which intersects the through cut segment, the perforated line of weakness being colinear with the through cut segment and spaced from the termination point.</p> |
