Conical cross wound bobbin winder control - by moving yarn guide eyelet on reciprocating path for constant and narrow gap from winding drum surface

Control comprises directing eyelet of the yarn guide forwards and backwards along the contact line between the bobbin and the conical winding drive drum to give a small and constant gap between the eyelet and the winding drum. The narrow gap delivers yarn at a tangent to the surface of the winding drum. Pref. reciprocating movement of the yarn guide follows a line parallel to the axis of the winding drum, which lies over the swing movement of the eyelet at right angles to line of travel. The swing angle is varied continuously w.r.t. dia. of the conical winding drum. Yarn guide (12) has a reciprocating movement along a yarn guide rod (11) parallel to the axis (8) of the winding drum (5). The eyelet (13) of the yarn guide (12) mounted to the guide rod (11), has a swing movement at right angles to the rod, with a guide (20) to give a preset swing movement range along the path (18) of the yarn guide. The guide (20) controls the eyelet (13) movement to give a constant and narrow gap between it and the contour of the winding drum along the contact line (6) between the bobbin (1) and the winding drum (5). The eyelet (13) lays a yarn (19) at a steady tangent on the winding drum (5) as the yarn guide (12) moves to and fro along path (18).
