<p>Process for rendering water resisting and water repelling dried coatings of paint based on aqs. emulsion contg. a synthetic latex of a vinyl ester homopolymer or copolymer, comrises adding to the paint a product resulting from the thermal interaction of (a) 0.5-15 pbw ethyl celluose, (b) 0.5-20 pbw fatty acid contg. 10-24C, (c) 0.25-15 pbw mono-, di- or trialkylamine or alkanolamine or morpholine, (d) 0.5-150 pbw drying or semi-drying vegetable oils or mixtures thereof (e) 0.5-50 pbw phthalic acid ester, benzoic acid ester, phosphoric acid ester, chlorinated diphenyl, substd. diphenyl or mixtures thereof, and/or (f) 0.5-50 pbw epoxidised triglyceride ester or of epoxidised aliphatic alcohol ester of unsatd. fatty acids having a m.wt. 300-5000 or mixtures thereof.</p> |
