The circuit includes an operation detector (14) for detecting the operation amount of video signals to output an operation coefficient. Adders (16)(17) sum up line brightness signals, chromaticity signals, and frame brightness signals. K coefficient approximators (18)(19) receive K coefficients to approximate them into smaller digits. Multipliers (20)(21) multiplies the outputs of the adders (16)(17) and the K coefficient approximators (18) (19). Another set of adders (22)(23) receive the output of the multipliers (18)(19) and the output of a Y/C separator (15) to output operation adaptive signals.
