A detergency builder additive, for boosting the detergency of a main wash powder in hard water, comprises alkali metal aluminosilicate (at least 50 wt%), sodium carbonate (15-20 wt%) and an organic sequestrant (2-12 wt%), preferably citrate. The builder additive may form part of a Baukasten (building block) detergent system comprising as separately packaged components a main wash powder, a builder additive, and optionally a bleach additive. |
