The invention comprises compounds of formula and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, wherein nis 1-3, one of R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> is H and the other is OH or C 1-6 alkanoyloxy. The compounds are prepared by dealkylation of the corresponding compounds where R<SP>1</SP> or R<SP>2</SP> is alkoxy followed if desired by selective alkanoylation of the OH group with a C 1-6 alkanoyl halide. Therapeutic compositions for enteral or parenteral administration comprise compounds of the above formula, which are peripheral and cutaneous vasodilators.
