The safety ski binding, in particular a heel holder, has a sole holder (10), which can be swivelled up about a transverse axle (9) mounted in a bearing block (7), and a catch link (13). The catch link (13), which interacts with a catch projection (8) fixed to the bearing block, is loaded by a triggering spring (16) and acts in the vertical direction counter to a swivelling of the sole holder (10). The bearing block (7) is mounted by means of a swivel plate (6) so as to be likewise swivellable about a vertical axle (4), which is fixed to the baseplate, and is loaded by a restoring spring (5). Furthermore, a lock is provided which consists of a spring-loaded lever (22) with a locking member (23) and a recess (3c) in the baseplate (3) as a receiving point for the locking member (23). The lock prevents the bearing block (7) from swivelling into predetermined positions of the sole holder (10). The lever (22) is in contact via a control zone (24) with a control surface (13b) of the catch link (13) in any position of the catch link (13), in which position said catch link grips below the catch projection (8), and its locking member (23) is held in a disengaged position which allows lateral swivelling out of the bearing block (7) in relation to the baseplate (3).

|
