Compounds of formula (I): <CHEM> in which: R<1> is perfluoroalkyl; R<2> is a group of formula (II): <CHEM> in which R<4> is hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, trifluoromethyl, cyano, hydroxy or nitro; or a group of formula (III): <CHEM> in which R<5> is hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, trifluoromethyl, cyano or nitro; alpha - beta is a carbon-carbon single bond or a carbon-carbon double bond; and where alpha - beta is a carbon-carbon single bond, R<3> is hydroxy or nitrooxy or, where alpha - beta is a carbon-carbon double bond, R<3> is hydrogen; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, have valuable anti-hypertensive activity and can thus be used for the treatment and prophylaxis of cardiovascular diseases. The invention also provides methods and compositions using these compounds as well as processes or their preparation.
