摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to set a Bl product at the desired value by a method wherein the core of a fan-shaped superconducting deflection magnet, to be used for a charged particle accelerator, is formed by laminating a plurality of thin iron plates vertical to a horizontal axis, or the main core, which is formed by an integral iron block, is composed of an end part laminated core, on which the number of laminating sheets can be adjusted in the direction of the path of the charged particles, attached to both edge faces of the main core. CONSTITUTION:A core 6, consisting of a main laminated core 4 and an end laminated core 3, has a fan shape at an angle of almost 90 deg., and it is formed by dividing into two parts, the upper and lower parts, of superconducting magnet 1 in the center surface. After lamination and fixing, a doughnut-shaped gap, where a cryostat 10 will be arranged, is formed on the main laminated core 4. The main laminated core 4 may be formed by machining an integral iron block. On the thin iron plate 5 to be used for the end laminated core 3, a notched part 8 is provided in advance, the prescribed number of sheets of the thin iron plates 5 are laminated, and they are fixed to the edge face 7 of the main laminated core 4. A deflecting magnetic field is measured along the path of charged particles, a Bl product is computed and adjusted by integrating the result of the above-mentioned measurement. The shape of the cross section of a part or the whole of the thin iron plate 5 can be a sector and in this case, the angle of intersection between the charged particles 2 and the core edge face 7 can be adjusted.
