PURPOSE:To improve system stability through quick response to abrupt voltage variation or system power disturbance due to system fault by implementing temporary storage and discharge of energy stored in a flywheel. CONSTITUTION:Upon detection of system fault or steep variation of disturbance, a reset filter 16 functions and an inverter controller 11 and an inverter 12 are controlled to increase power generation and decrease rotational speed upon voltage drop thus temporarily discharge (or store) the energy stored in the flywheel FW3 of an AERC. Consequently, the AERC decelerates (or accelerates), but temporary discharge (storage) of power contributes to improvement of system stability. At that time, voltage control through a voltage control circuit 10 is carried out in parallel. Rotational speed of the AERC decreases due to temporary discharge of power. |
