An energy store for load transfer switches, the sudden movement of the contacts to be operated taking place by releasing a spring energy store, which can be latched and has spring levers supported via the same shaft, between which springs are tensioned. The springs are in each case connected to a further hinge point, between the hinge points of the lever.
