IN-FURNACE BRAZING METHOD FOR PLATE PARTS

PURPOSE:To braze a bracket and a side member more surely nearer the peripheral edge thereof by forming a slight cut pendent part 1 in a cutting direction on the peripheral edge of a plate part as a metallic plate is cut and bringing the cut pendent part 1 into contact with the plane of another part facing this part. CONSTITUTION:The bracket 2 is so formed in this cutting stage that the cut pendent part 1 of the peripheral edge formed by the cutting is positioned on the brazing material 8 side. The bracket 2 is so disposed that the cut pendent part 1 formed on the peripheral edge of the bracket comes into contact with the surface of the side member 4. The side member 4 and the bracket 2 are previously fastened and fixed by a rivet 9. This assembly is inserted into a furnace kept at a high temp. and the brazing materials clad on the surfaces of the respective parts are melted, then the molten brazing materials are cooled to solidify. The molten brazing materials 8 are attracted to the peripheral edge of the narrower spacing by the surface tension thereof and are solidified in this state.
