<p>The liquor contg. cyanides is treated with HCHO in amt. stoichiometrically sufficient to bind cyanides and convert them into harmless org. cpds. Treatment is esp, useful for liquors used for scrubbing gases from blast and electric furnaces and coke batteries and for washing galvanised parts. It is suitable for both waste and circulating liquors, giving improved degree of purification without detriment to properties of liquor.</p> |
