PURPOSE:To prevent an error from being generated depending upon the fitting of a mirror element as long as an abutting support surface is accurately formed by prescribing the fitting angle of the mirror element by the abutting engagement between the peripheral edge part and an abutting support surface formed at the inside peripheral edge part of an opening part. CONSTITUTION:The polygon mirror is equipped with a polygonal base body 10, which is molded integrally out of, for example, a proper synthetic resin material. A storage part 18 for the mirror element is formed inside each of opening parts 14 formed in the respective polygon flanks of the polygonal base body 10, and the abutting support surface where the peripheral edge part of the mirror element 16 put therein is made to abut partially is formed at the inside peripheral edge part. Further, an elastic pressing element 20 is provided to press the mirror element 16 elastically against the abutting support surface. Consequently, the mirror element 16 can be installed in the polygon flanks of the polygonal base body 10 without generating any fitting error and the mirror element 16 can stably be held there. |
